woke up with hopes that i would have heard from billy (which i hadn't) and it made my typical morning lethargy just that much worse. sent him a message and then he instantly got on skype - i apologized for the night before, he apologized for not writing and i was just glad to hear his voice - it made my day. it always makes my day, but thank god for a good connection. went back into the field with jess and tina - teams will get shifted around once hans leaves tomorrow.
really productive morning - fifty holes by 12:15, then grilled cheese, a granny smith apple and peanut butter, served with a side of just enough coffee to keep me conscious until i headed back out to the field.
today really took it out of me, same as yesterday. my energy level is dropping and i hope that isn't correlated with what i think it is. for now i'm just praying it is mother nature, not something more sinister. my finger is completely back to normal though, which is good news. oh, and in other good news - yesterday i was worried about having to pay for a hotel in stockholm because tina was making it sound like we would have to pay for it ourselves and the grant money wouldn't cover it, which i wasn't going to be able to afford. sweden is fucking expensive and i'm flat broke. well, katie talked to her about it today and not only do we not have to pay for it, we now have a reservation! now i can just coast until the day i head home - no more worries. this was the last substantial problem which i was stressing about, so i'm glad to have some resolution. came back, had coffee after the field and still fell asleep reading anyway. jess and i shared a load of laundry and then we had traditional swedish thursday night pea soup at the big house (vegetarian for katie and i of course), a bit of faux straciatella ice cream and then a nice walk with jess. i feel like she is really opening up and vice versa, and i really like her. i think the next few weeks with she and katie are going to be enjoyable - as much as i want go home, i also don't want this daydream to end. cani live in this children's storybook forever? well, minus walking through cow patties and manure, please. hans is over now to say goodbye, then shower, skype, updates and reading. things are slowly coming back into focus.
