on fairy tales

miss rosa may have had her ogre-tales shaping her narrative in absalom, absalom, but my theme is much happier for once. no dark twisted images, just childish (though maybe in the sense of being delusional) dreams and a smile despite all the obstacles in my path. i'm just waiting for the happy ending. a modern day romance.

articulated through texts, telephones, and twitter...and punctuated by mixes lovingly crafted, uploaded, and reduced to a web address. by leaks and blogs and pitchfork news, by pirated movies and tv online. trying to convey physical energy and desire, human inertia across a static phone line...then failing to put my fingers to the keys in a pattern that makes any more sense that my ever-increasing sighs and smiles, unseen four hundred miles away.

you're cute, amazing, and i appreciate everything you do. all the tears you've already heard, and the weaknesses that you not only see past, but somehow turn into something admirable. i've liked you for far too long... i can't believe you're mine. you, the person i never thought i would have.

so much for ambiguity, so much for pretense. for once in my life, i'm sure. no regrets, no lies, no facades, just a few worries about what may keep us apart. you're the one that i want.
